LES GETS WORLD CUP HELMET CAM WITH NEKO MULALLY

The second round of this year’s Downhill World Cup from the legendary venue of Les Gets in France is GO. INTENSE Factory Racing’s Neko Mulally took an early run down the track on the first day of practice for us. Check it out.
Les Gets holds a special place in the hearts of all those involved with downhill mountain biking. This historical venue has seen some amazing racing over the years, with the biggest names in the sport doing battle on the slopes of Mont-Chéry. And don’t forget that our very own Vanessa Quin won World Championship gold here in 2004 onboard an INTENSE M3.
There will be passion and emotion… this is France after all! ‘Old school downhill’, ‘proper mountain biking’, call it what you will, Les Gets is DH racing in the raw. I’m pretty sure that when the founding fathers were imagining the future of the sport Les Gets 2021 is probably pretty close to what they were dreaming of.
The 2021 track starts and finishes in the same place that it did in 2019, but everything else is new. Starting at 1740m (5,700’), and dropping 567m (1,860’) over a length of 2,300m (1.43 miles) the course has a bit of everything – grassy pistes, technical wooded sections, roots, rocks, jumps, drops, road gaps... the lot.
The weather is one variable that is always out of the riders’ control, there has been heavy rain in the run up to the event, but looking at the predictions it seems that the mountain gods will hold off and we will have a dry race on Saturday… but you can never be totally sure.
