The Primer delivers all the benefits of a 29er with the responsiveness of a 27.5. With the aggressive geometry and the efficient JS-Tuned suspension platform, the Primer will completely change your mind about what a 29er is capable of. Equipped with shorter chain stays, slack head angle and steeper seat tube, the Primer delivers a balanced feel whether pointed up or down the mountain. What is it?The Primer is the 29" trail bike of your dreams. A versatile bike that is ideal for the majority of riding on UK trails, a bike that is equally fast up as it is down.

Everyone! The Primer is the swiss-army bike. If you have just one bike in your quiver this should be it, regardless of your riding persuasion.

The Primer loves natural singletrack, rocky trail centre descents and technical climbs. It'll descend and climb with equal aplomb and will shine in all but the steepest and gnarliest of terrain.

The Primer is your one-quiver bike. A seriously fun ride with fast-rolling 29er wheels yet all the responsiveness you'd normally associate with a 27.5 machine, it defies expectations or categorisation to be a versatile trail eater however you like to ride.

Simply put, the Primer is ideal for any rider. Whether you love storming up climbs with panache or feeling the exhilaration of serious speed on the downhills, the Primer is your Swiss-army bike.

If you have just one mountain bike, this should be it, regardless of your riding persuasion.

With 130mm of travel and spot-on geometry, its balanced ride means the Primer's as at home springing up technical climbs as hurtling down natural singletrack or rocky trail centre descents. In short, it's perfect for the majority of UK riding.

Fantastic one bike solution. I’ve now had time to ride a broad range of trails in two countries, and the Primer is fantastic, it climbs like an XC bike and descends not far off my dedicated (150mm travel) trail bike. Doesn’t feel like a 29er in the tight stuff, which was a big selling point for me. Recommended.

I LOVE this bike. It’s simply fast everywhere! I own a couple of bikes and this is the one I reach for on 90% of my rides as it’s just a pleasure to ride. What I like most about the Primer is that it’s not just good at one thing... It’s a very “poppy” bike, not overly plush, I’d describe it more as taught and fast.

From the moment I swung a leg over the bike, it felt “right”. And VERY fast! Over rolling terrain, the bike just flew! The rear suspension particularly showed first class terrain following capabilities, so that any effort on the pedals just allowed you to go still faster... Is it the best trail bike I’ve ridden? Oh yes!

Press on the PRIMER

..Assume the aggressive position of a downhill demon and you are immediately rewarded by a feeling of blissful speed, most befitting of a smaller-wheeled and longer travel bike. We could honestly say that if a rider hadn’t noticed the Primer was a 29er, they would never dream they were on big wheels once riding this bike; this thing really is a rocket ship.

…The Primer 29 may in fact, be the best performing trail bike that Intense has ever made… The magic of the Primer's uncanny performance cannot be traced to any single aspect of its construction, geometry or component selection. Instead it is all of those things that make it work… It's been a while since I've enjoyed riding a trailbike this much and longer still since I'd fallen for a 29er…

Okay, let's get this out of the way now; this is a fantastic bike… the bike felt beautifully poised in every situation I threw it down, and responded immediately to any shift in weight… A beautifully poised, beautiful, elegant, fast as hell trail bike, which would be as just as happy on an XC course, or an Enduro one…
