The first 2018 victory for Intense Racing UK comes courtesy of Sam Flockhart aboard his Intense Primer 29er at Tweedlove Enduro...
Intense Racing UK’s elite enduro rider Sam Flockhart took victory at the first Tweedlove event of 2018, Vallelujah, riding the 29” Primer to the top of the podium.
Fears of snowy weather affecting the event proved over exaggerated, with the day itself providing decent racing conditions for the competitive field.
The enduro course bridged trails in both Cademuir and Glentress forests, each timed stage mixing technicality, speed and punchy physical tests.
Sam smashed the course on his Primer – proving the versatility of this big-wheeled machine – to take first place on two of the stages and the overall win in 18:09.69, over 20-seconds clear of second place Christopher Gallagher, who in turn put George Gannicott into third place by four seconds.
This first gold of the season – for both Flockhart and the Primer – bodes well for the summer of racing ahead, with Sam next taking on the UK Gravity Enduro round 1 on home soil in Innerleithen.
Look out for the Intense Racing UK team at events across the country during the 2018 season – including the HSBC British Cycling DH Round 1 in Cwmcarn on 7-8 April as well international UCI DH World Cups.
